DGI Data Governance

Tools, Technologies, and Processes at the Intersection of Data Governance and MDM/CDI/EDM
It's really hard to draw a line separating Data Governance from Master Data Management (MDM), Customer Data Integration (CDI), or Enterprise Data Management (EDM).
You can almost say there's a "chicken-and-the-egg" relationship between Data Governance and any of these disciplines. Your governance program may very well set policies and priorities for your organization's MDM effort, for example. Then, having addressed high-level concerns, governance would leave much of the hands-on-keyboard data work to the MDM program.
Part of that work, however, will undoubtedly include establishing detailed rules for data, enforcing those rules, and baking controls into systems and workflows - work that could be described as governance.
And so, the best MDM/CDI/EDM tools include functionality to address traditional Data Governance and Stewardship concerns. Check out the software products offered by the vendors here in the Showcase to see how they help manage and improve the value of your organization's data assets.l

A Note From Our Publisher
The Data Governance Institute
is Vendor-Neutral. But we're
not tool-blind; we know that it
usually takes the careful
application of software to
achieve all your Data
Governance and MDM/CDI/EDM goals. Although we haven't been able to personally examine and validate the solutions presented here, we know you'll want to hear what the these vendors have to say about how they can solve your specific problems and make your programs and projects successful. Enjoy!
