Tools, Technologies, and Processes at the Intersection of Data Governance and Data Quality

Many Data Governance and Stewardship programs exist primarity to help improve the quality and integrity of an organization's data.

These types of programs are especially dependent on tools. They rely on software to help with validation, data profiling, data cleansing, and merge/purge activities such as deduplication, householding, matching, and enrichment. Software applications can help point out data anomolies, so that the Data Quality and Governance teams can decide how to deal with them.

These types of programs may also rely on software to help capture and manage Data Quality rules and policies, and they may need workflow to enable collaborative decision-making and approvals. They may need software to help locate sensitive or private data so the organization can focus on improving the quality of that information.

If your organization is trying to improve data quality, then you're probably looking for software that can perform traditional quality routines while also meeting the needs of data stewards and governors who are supporting this effort. Check out what the vendors in the Showcase have to say about how their tools do just that.

A Note From Our Publisher

The Data Governance Institute
is Vendor-Neutral. But we're
not tool-blind; we know that it
usually takes the careful
application of software to
achieve all your Data
Governance and Data Quality goals. Although we haven't been able to personally examine and validate the solutions presented here, we know you'll want to hear what the these vendors have to say about how they can solve your specific problems and make your programs and projects successful. Enjoy!
